Addo Elephant National Park: The third largest national park in South Africa and home to a huge variety of wildlife, including more than 600 elephants, as well as lion, the endangered black rhino, Cape buffalo, leopard, spotted hyena, antelope, an array of bird species, and the very unique Addo flightless dung beetle. Tented shared accommodation with twin beds and a full day game drive in the Addo Elephant National Park included.

Mountain Zebra National Park: Opened in 1937, this park initially provided a nature reserve for the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra. Today the park has more than 700 species of wildlife including zebra, cheetah, lion, buffalo, eland, kudu, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, blesbok and gemsbok. Also known for its sightings of some rare wildlife, like the aardwolf, bat-eared fox and caracal. The combination of wildlife and landscape provide the perfect recipe for any nature lover. Tented shared accommodation (no beds) with a full day game drive in the Mountain Zebra National Park and Cheetah Tracking on foot included (3 to 4 hours).

Nieu Bethesda: Nieu-Bethesda is a village in the Great Karoo heatland of South Africa. A massive arid part of the country that spans more than 400 000 sqaure kilometers. Situated at the foot of the Sneeuberge Mountains, this little village offers vast open plains, majestic mountains and champagne air.

Camdeboo National Park: Only a stone’s throw from one of the oldest towns in South Africa, Graaff-Reinet lies the majestic valley of desolation. This awe inspiring valley is the product of the volcanic and erosive forces of nature over a period of 200-million years, its many rock columns, formations and never ending views provide some of the most unique scenery in South Africa.

Customer Reviews

Hi Leigh, We had an absolutely fantastic time with John on our 4 day safari with Afroventures! I really can't think of a negative experience or how to give any constructive criticism. Seriously, it was all great. John is so knowledgeable and open and it was so good hanging out with him and getting to know him. He took great care to make sure we were all comfortable and well fed - the picnic and braai he prepared for us were some of the very best I've had in all my trips to South Africa!! - and again, seriously, I can't think of anything negative to say. The accommodations were all great and the driving time between destinations were are very reasonable. Okay, the one negative was - Skip the Owl House. That was just weird and creepy, but we loved the BnB in Neue Bethesda (sp?) and the fossil museum with "Melinda" our guide and the pizza/pasta restaurant and the pub we went to in the village after dinner, so I definitely recommend that stop, but the Owl House creeped me out. I hope you all got to enjoy the meat we brought from our hunting part of the trip and would love to see some photos! Thank you so much for a wonderful 4-day trip. Hanging out with a cheetah and elephants and hiking up the dunes and eating so much great food and all of the really interesting conversations with John and the others in our group (the 2 Germans and Molly and Lena).....I'll never forget this trip!! - Jane

Dear Afroventures/Leigh, Thank you for organizing the wonderful tour to Addo, Mountain Zebra and Camdeboo national parks, which I enjoyed thoroughly. John was a terrific guide, a safe driver, sharing his knowledge and passion for the animals and the SAN parks, as well as for your company and went the extra mile to ensure I had the experience of a life time! I appreciated your company's high adherence to Covid-19 standards, I hope you and your team will be able to continue to provide extraordinary experiences to visitors like me, including vegetarian meals, and will thrive despite the trying times! All best wishes. Ruth - Ruth

Hands down one of the best experiences we had in South Africa. Our guide and now friend Kevin Foster made this adventure one to remember for a lifetime. We started with a great day of game driving around Addo Elephant National Park. Even with recent rains and the game viewing not the best, Kevin made sure we kept our spirits up and we were still able to find some good game. He kept our excitement up. After a nice relaxing meal and night outside the park, we made our way up into the Karoo and entered Mountain Zebra National Park. This park is BREATHTAKING! Its so unique and different than any other region we explored in the country and my favorite park, even over Kruger as far as scenery and untouched landscape goes. After a full afternoon of game drives up to sunset, we at perched on our wonderful mountain chalet enjoying the stars of the night as Kevin made an excellent braai. The next morning was the experience that made this even better, we went cheetah tracking with a park ranger and approached a cheetah and her year old cub on foot, getting close within 20 meters. It was a small climb but incredibly worth it. After one more game drive we traveled down to our next stop Nieu Bethesda, a beautiful quiet town nestled in the mountains. We journey to the Valley of Desolation for a sunset, best sunset on our trip and an excellent dinner in Graaff Reinet. The following morning we explored the lovely town before making our way back to Port Elizabeth where we caught our flight on to Cape Town to spend the remainder of our holiday in this country. Afroventures is a very professional and fantastic tour company and we feel so privileged to have chosen them and this 4 day adventure. I cannot say enough praises for our guide Kevin and his experience, expertise, and friendliness he showed throughout the entire journey. In all the places we have traveled, we have not had such a great guide before and probably will not again since he set the bar so high professionally and socially. Thank you Kevin and Afroventures for a perfect and wonderful adventure in our journey to South Africa - Steven
