Customer Reviews

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our full day wine tour to Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. We experienced visiting these hidden gems :) the boutique wine farms were amazing, with an abundance of wine quality, great friendly service and beautiful vineyards. We had an inspiring wine tour guide - Wouter. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. We enjoyed his talks and his level of experience showed. The wine tour was not too crowded, just our group and another couple, so we were happy with the safe numbers too :) The big standout of the tour was Mitre's edge. Was incredible to feel the generosity, warmth and kindness in having wine tasting in the winemakers house. Wine was amazing and definitely an experience we will remember. I highly recommend Wine flies for a fun wine adventure :) - Lyndelle Lok

The tour was well organized. There were not many people in any winery, no one had to wait. Good wine and a variety of snacks, the companions were cheerful and carefree - we spent a great day. - Sergei Shumikhin

Wine flies is always undoubtedly an epic day out. Super chilled and informative, we had some good laughs and great tastings. Our guide was incredible and I'd like to say that he set the tone for the day, brilliant job! We will most definitely be back, yet again Thank you - Sally Byram

All in All the entire Day was Awesome!! Our guide Sharif was Super Accommodating, well spoken and certainly has a firm grasp of wine knowledge of the Stellenbosch & Franschhoek wine routes which enhanced our tour even further. Our 1st stop at Mitre's Edge Boutique Wine Estate was certainly an eye opener learning all about the how to go about tasting wine and what to look for in a wine by Lola Nicholls (5 S's sight, swirl, smell, sip & savor) and the wines that we tasted was superb. It certainly opened us up to new wines and also to, in future, venture of the beaten track to find some hidden gems. Their flagship Red Wine Sholto was certainly a winner for our group as well as the lesser known Viognier White Wine which has certainly impressed us as well. Our 2nd stop at Chamonix Wine Farm had a more laid back feel to it with lots of local tourist frequenting the establishment. The wines tasted, in particular the Pinot Noir again introduced us to new possibilities. Sharif then took us on a Cellar Tour at Chamonix which I must say he was very passionate about explaining to us everything he possibly could about oak wine barrels from how they are produced possible cost per barrel and how they are utilised in the wine making process. He also explained the different fermentation processes and how wood, steel and cement affects that process (very interesting in deed). Our 3rd stop at Rickety Bridge hailed lunch and a unexpected and uninvited treat of a wedding ceremony. Besides the fabulous food Sharif introduced us to a Lovely Rickety Bridge Blanc de Blanc MCC and Paulina's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon that paired well with our food. Our 4th and last stop before whisking us through Stellenbosch on the way to our drop off point was at Lovane Boutique Wine Estate where we were introduced to and loved their Flagship wine Isikhati and Blanc De Noir Wines. Thank You Sharif and Wine Flies for taking us on a absolutely Marvelous Wine Journey through the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Wine Regions. To Sharif, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING, you are very Good at it and we are looking forward to meeting and journey with you exploring more Boutique Wine Farms. Thank You from the Zietsman Clan!!! - Milene Zietsman

A brilliant tour company in my opinion Tour guides are funny and informative and handle the group well and allow an ease and relaxed feel to the day while still keeping us on our toes and ensuring a very enjoyable day. COVID measures were always in place and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves I have been on two tours now with Wine Flies and have and will continue to recommend them highly to people.
