We had an incredible experience on our customized Garden Route tour with John. From start to finish, everything felt so thoughtful and well-curated. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and we got to see such a wide variety of stunning sights that we never would have found on our own. John was extremely knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire trip---he added context and insight at stops and during the drive. He also shared about South African culture and history and his first-hand experiences growing up there, which made the experience even more meaningful. Afroventures and John struck the perfect balance between having a plan and allowing flexibility, adjusting the itinerary seamlessly based on weather, our energy levels, and timing around meals. Speaking of meals---the food was amazing! Every stop felt intentional and elevated the overall experience. We're so grateful for how effortless and enjoyable John and Afroventures made everything. My friend and I travelled with Afroventures Tours & Safaris on the Garden Route in August (2023).. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days. Our itinerary covered all the popular cites and our guide Freddy was awesome. I would review some of the details and the accommodation, however on the whole, we had a great time and I would highly recommend Leigh and the team. It was very easy to contact Leigh and he always tried to adjust our itinerary, where he could. The flexibility was awesome. - Anne

I was pleasantly surprised that Afroventures offered a one way Garden Route trip, from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. They also offered it every day of the week. And run the trip for even one guest. My guide was Mawetu, aka Elvis. Turned out just to be he and I for the 5 days. I had a blast! He was super flexible and accommodating. He has a fabulous personality, so much fun to be around. We saw so much on this adventure and made many memories. I was a bit hesitant about staying at hostels, but I undgraded to have private rooms with an ensuite. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Leigh, from the office at Afroventures, was very organized and responded quickly. I would absolutely recommend this tour but also any adventure with Afroventures! - Jackie
