Sani Pass Tour – Pathway to Lesotho – “Kingdom in the Sky”
The Sani Pass tour gives you the opportunity to experience an adventure of a life time – an exciting journey up this famous mountain pass. The tour starts in the small town of Underberg in South Africa and crosses into the mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, exploring the high altitude mountain vistas in the Sani Top area of Lesotho.
Our Sani Pass tour snakes up the mountain and takes you through a scenic valley along a crystal clear river, making for a breath-taking experience. Your personal Tour Guide will fill you in on all you can learn about the history of the pass and the surrounding area. Feast your eyes on the natural landscape that is dotted with many species of wildflowers, creating splashes of vibrant colours. The road itself is rough which is why only 4×4 vehicles are allowed to traverse it, but because of this and the hairpin bends, you are in for a fun and heart-racing trip! We use only the best Toyota Land Cruiser models for this reason.
Once you reach the top your senses will be filled beyond your wildest dreams – breathe in the fresh mountain air, drink in the sweeping vistas that are nothing short of majestic and enjoy this unique African experience in Lesotho – ‘Kingdom of the Sky’.

As a whole, this was a veery memorable experience, Peter the guide was priceless, he shared a wealth of knowledge about the local fauna and flora and shared many historical stories about the area. The vehicle and the drive up the pass with the many minibuses passing you, which some times felt a race track rather than a set of treacherous switchbacks on a mountain pass, felt very safe and was enjoyable. The visit to the village was tremendous and Marlene, I believe here name was, was welcoming and the opportunity to share bread and local beer with her and Peter was a nice touch. The booking process was very professional and the execution was great! We were a group of 10 friends and the drivers - Peter and Mo were superb and a true testament to South African hospitality! They were both so professional and funny at the same time, made the time to explain the various historical facts and were of great help at the Lesotho Village Tour.
